Beef Breakfast Sausage

We'll admit pork breakfast sausages (and bacon) rule supreme. But, if you're looking for healthier alternative - these will do in a pinch. 

Make a bunch - and grab one on your way out the door in the morning. Perfect for breakfast sandwiches, too. 

INgredients

  • 2 pounds Highland ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 small onion finely minced
  • 1 tsp minced fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 2 tsp dried sage
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried marjoram
  • 1/8 tsp crush red pepper (more if you like some heat)

 

Preparation

Combine spices, then mix with beef, egg, onion and parsley. Form into thin patties and fry/grill as you would a normal burger. Morning protein punch!
