Committees

 

To ensure the proper functioning of Canadian Highland Cattle Society (CHCS) and to support members of the Board, there are various working committees, namely:

 

Pedigree Committee

Members: Chad Anderson, Adele Dunning, Chelsea Hockridge

This committee has the responsibility to oversee the fulfillment by the Registrar of the Registrar’s obligations concerning registration of animals. It also rules on any controversy regarding the issuance of registration certificates, the identification of animals, the keeping of pedigree and breeding records as well as the transfer of registered animals. It may also intervene in contentious situations involving embryos.

 

Promotion Committee

Members: Catherine Rolica, Paul Thibodeau, Paul Slote, Heather Jansen

This committee has the responsibility to plan, organize and implement various promotional tools in collaboration with the Secretary-manager under the authority of the CHCS Board.

 

Bylaw Committee

Members: Alice Dixon, Catherine Rolica, Charla Arnott, Lester Vanhill

This committee has the responsibility to review the Bylaws and propose any changes as required.

 

Governance Committee

Members: Andrea McCoy-Naperstkow, Bonnie Luopa

This committee has the responsibility to draft Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.

Webmaster: Jaylyn Ettinger

 

The president is, ex officio, a member of all standing and special committees. If necessary, working committees with a specific mandate can be formed for a limited time. All committees are the responsibility of the Board.
